Biography:

Sakshi Bhargava is a fifth year graduate student in Dr. Witherspoon’s lab. She received her bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Psychology in May 2010 from Stony Brook University and master’s degree in Psychology in May 2014 from Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include understanding development of children and adolescents in multiple contexts. Specifically, she’s interested in looking at the effects of parental involvement and neighborhood context on adolescents’ academic performance and engagement. She is also interested in understanding the process of acculturation in Latino families and how it may impact Latino parents’ involvement in their adolescents’ education.
